Use the evidence from the customer journey to decide what to improve next.

A metric only makes sense in context

Views can show that content was displayed. Clicks can show that a person followed a link. Neither proves that the visitor was a good fit, read the page or became a customer. These measures are useful for diagnosing the early stages of a campaign.

An enquiry is a stronger signal of intent, but it is still not a sale. Some enquiries are incomplete, outside the service area or simply not ready. A completed booking or paid invoice is closer to the business outcome, although it may take longer to record.

Use the right number for the question

If you are asking whether a post reached people, views are relevant. If you are asking whether the message encouraged a visit, clicks matter. If the goal is new customers, you need a way to connect enquiries and sales back to the source when possible.

The stages can help locate a problem. Many views and few visits may point to a weak message or audience mismatch. Visits without enquiries may suggest a page or offer issue. Enquiries without sales may require better qualification, pricing clarity or follow-up. These are hypotheses to investigate, not automatic diagnoses.

Keep reports honest and useful

Label leading indicators as leading indicators. Report what was measured, what was not, and what the business should do next. Do not present a rise in impressions as proof that revenue increased.

A balanced review connects activity to outcomes and records limitations. When systems cannot yet track a booking after a customer leaves the website, say so and consider a practical manual reconciliation. Better measurement is a process of closing gaps, not inventing certainty.
